AVRTIKL. A BOOKSHOP ‘THE WAY THINGS LOOK’


 


 

exists for a little bit more then a year now.

It is a space down town Sofia, focus on the agenda of graphic design, typography, books and visual culture.

Founded and run by:


Viktoriya Staykova - Senior Graphic Designer at Brand New Ideas and part of

TI-RE Collection, platform for independently published books & zines based in Sofia.

Andrew Anderson - musician at the band KAKE?, photographer, filmmaker, writer

Mariya Valkova - graphic designer and educator on freelance basis.

AVRTIKL BECOMES A BOOKSHOP / FIRST EVENT: ‘THE WAY THINGS LOOK’

THE FIRST BOOKSHORE FOR DESIGN IN SOFIA, BULGARIA

AVRTIKL is back, but now as a bookshop for design and visual culture!


From 17 February AVRTIKL will offer a vibrant selection of design, architecture, contemporary art, photography and artist books. We will also host our first book-centric event ‘THE WAY THINGS LOOK’. And don’t worry: if you want a coffee or a beer, we’ve still got that.


Our first event ‘THE WAY THINGS LOOK’ focuses on how we view the world both as consumers and creators of visual culture. We’ve picked seven of our favorite books on this topic, and we’ll share the stories behind them. It’s a chance to discover new works, inspirations and ideas. And it’s always fun to chat about books.


This is the first in a series of monthly book events with a focus on different design subjects. Stay tuned for more info.

AVRTIKL address is bul. "Aleksandar Stamboliyski" 20b, Sofia, Bulgaria.


The venue's location is brutal, the very center of the capital, close to one of the main road arteries bulevard "Vitosha", The National Theatre "Ivan Vazov", The Presidency building, metro station Serdika and a numerous amount of other key spots in the capital.
